More People Walking, Cycling as Gas Prices Soar

With gas prices now topping $3 per gallon, many Americans reminisce fondly of the days when the cheap cost of filling up the car gave rise to "cruising" on Route 66. While those days are gone forever, there are some positive side effects of the energy crisis. Walking and cycling more means that Americans will be getting more exercise and generating less pollution. But, while walking more is great exercise and saves energy, it takes a toll on feet, making proper foot care more important than ever. HBA Below National Premium Rise for Six Years

HBA announced today that for the sixth consecutive year its average premium increase would be below the national industry average. HBA is Australia's third-largest health fund and has maintained premium increases lower than the industry average since 2002. Over the six years to April 2007 HBA's average premium increase has been 5% compared to an industry average of 6.7%, representing a 25% reduction compared to the industry average.
